Default Edius 6 fail to load error message

I have been using the full registered version of E6 with no problem until today.

Just fired up the PC and clicked on the E6 start shortcut and got.....................This application may have been installed improperly.

Took out the dongle, re-started PC and inserted dongle, same outcome.

Any ideas

First simply try restarting your PC. If that doesn't work, try using System Restore to revert to a state that is known to be good, i.e. if your system worked fine yesterday, go back to the last system restore point before that.

Also run an AV scan, problems with file associations are a common symptom of malware.

Next, I uninstalled Edius, shut down PC and re-booted.

Installed 6.1, shut down PC and re-booted, Edius 6.1 worked great

Shutdown PC and re-booted Edius 6.1 still OK

Updated to 6.6 and guess what, yes, error message returned

...................This application may have been installed improperly.

Now as I always have a clone copy of my boot disc I inserted that in place of the disc with the faulty Edius installation and all is OK so far.

If Edius stays OK I will just clone the good installation over the bad and problem solved even if the reason for it is not.
