Default Existing subtitles - aspect ratio on new video dimensions

I have this specific issue:
Made a 16:9 video with quick-tiler subtitles.
The same video must be made in vertical variation (9:16), meaning that my original 1920:1080 project should be cropped to 720:1280 px template.

The problem with existing subtitles is:
They (as expected) are displayed as too big for the new dimensions and should be rearranged into more and shorter lines.

BUT, when I open the existing subtitle the text is squashed. I presume that the settings take into account the spacing from the edges of the template, so in an attempt to preserve the same values resizes the subtitles proportionally. When I save or save-as it stays that way.
Which is still not a big issue - the issue is that I cannot reset the original ratio of these subtitles. I can only manually stretch the squashed version and to hope that my eye catches the right proportion.

Any ideas?

Were the titles placed on titler tracks or video tracks? If on title tracks rather than video tracks they will be distorted when the aspect is changed. Most people in Edius place titles on video tracks instead of t-tracks.

Yes, on a title track. Should I use a vide track for this from now on?

Yes, use a video track for all titles...the title track is obsolete, IMHO.

In your original project just move all the titles to video tracks and save to a new project name and export to the chosen format.
