The Median video filter that's part of Edius does basic noise reduction.

Neat video is the best IMO.

David, I have Neat but wonder if maybe I'm missing something in my understanding about how to use it. My issue with it is that it doesn't seem to allow it to be applied only within a selective masked area but must be applied over the entire frame. For me, this is a huge limitation. Have I missed something?

My understanding is You choose the best masked area by moving it around the frame to find the highest noise area but it will be applied to the whole frame

I thought I saw Matt did a tutorial with selective area noise reduction using Neat. I didn't pay much attention to it because I shoot my own stuff and I don't let it gets noisy lol. But I think it should be easy to use the mask filter along with Neat.

Unfortunately, it won't work within a mask. I do a lot of astrophotography for time lapse, it would be really helpful for just the non sky foregrounds in certain sequences.
