Hello everyone,
I have been asking for advice on here for years whenever I get stuck, so I finally looked at this thread and thought I would contribute

You can see some of my favourite wedding video highlights here.
I have been shooting multi camera wedding videos by myself (without an assistant or anything) for years.
Obviously I'm a female as well. I havn't ever encountered another female multi camera single operator business in wedding videography, at least not in Perth Australia - I've just moved to California so I have no idea what the market is like here

Everything you see on there has been filmed with Canon 5d mk 2 as my main camera
For ceremony and reception, audio would be recorded with Senheisser connected to Sony FX1 that's in a 'safe wide to the side' position.
During post I match them up.

The first few wedding videos I ever tried back in 2007/2008 I edited with Windows Movie Maker because I didn't want to buy some software and then decide I didn't like it.. Some guys from my church were wedding videographers and reccomended Edius, which I had never heard of. Everyone else was pushing Adobe or Finalcut.
I got Edius, and never looked back. So smooth and easy to use. Then in 2010 I went to Sydney and did a wedding videographer DSLR conference, after struggling to shoot DSLR without somebody telling me how to fix the hiccups at the end of 09, and found out that most of the videographers in attendance used Edius! They had an Edius rep come and speak which was pretty awesome.

Would love to know what you think.

Hello Sky, keep up the good work. Just keep honing your craft. California is flooded with photographers and videographers. But you are making more of a presence because of your blogs, website, etc. Marketing and exposure is the most important way to get more business.

I also have the Canon 5D MkII. Amazing camera. I just bought a Sony a7s which is the best low-light camera I've every used. You can shoot people on the beach in moonlight.

I'm in Los Angeles and there is a photo/videographer on every block. Luckily, I started early when I shot film on 35mm, up to 4X5. I also bought $25,000 BetaCam cameras. Not everyone could afford to buy the equipment and film, etc. So, I had an advantage.

So, keep joining all of the related forums and show more of your work, as well as promoting all of your webpages. I like your videos that I have seen so far.

Good Luck, John

Default Shot This For Fun
Nothing fancy editing wise, just color correction, saturation and contrast.

Default Videos made with Edius,...

All of these were cut with Edius.

I had an Aja Cion to play withrecently, so there will be some 4K samples up soon.

4K ProRes files seem to put less load on the system when scrubbing or playback with colour correction, then does GH4 files.
A7s is somewhere between the GH4 and Cion for system load.

A number of people have asked if we have 'Edited with EDIUS' graphics to use at the end of projects, to help spread the word.

Here is a (41MB) pack that contains graphics and a very brief animation, in two text preferences - 'Cut with EDIUS' and 'Edited with EDIUS'.

Please feel free to use as you wish.

Default My first edit at home with Edius 8.1 (trialversion)

Shot with 3 different GoPros, a cheap DSLR camera and a Sony Camera, the action in house and on the street was recorded within less then 30 minutes.. everything went too quickly!

P.S. after 8 days, my trialversioncode was not accepted anymore?! I should have access untill 19 january 2016. Someone has any idea why it says Serial number not valid anymore?

Here you'll find 3 music clips edited with Edius by the musician (my son).
This was his first experience with Edius. With just a few explanations from me, he was able to create these clips.
Another proof how user friendly Edius is.

My son is a professional sax player.
Any feedback on his clips (editing) or music is welcome.

Enjoy ...

Default Dragracing clip

Here is a clip I shot the other day using a Panasonic HC-X1000 in 2160P50 and resized to 720P50 for Vimeo. It shows the accident of a friend of mine as he rolled his dragster after completing a run of over 175mph. The distance from me was about 800m (1/2 mile) and reveals the problem I often have with heat haze from the track over this distance.
