Default 2nd nvidia for Fullscreen on 3rd monitor??

I have a nvidia card with that can run two monitors. If I add another nvidia or ATI card, can I use that card for a 3rd monitor for Full screen playback?

I don't need the input capabilities that GV cards like spark, etc. provide. I just need Fullscreen playback to a third monitor or HDTV.

I don't think you will be able to run to cards at the same time in the one machine, you are better of with the Spark card.

Edius 5.5 have no "full screen" overlay output like PPro or CSx

you can expand over 3 Monitors, an save a specific layout
with single view and zoom up the player/recoder windows on i.e. monitor_3

Hi Denwa, HDSpark is not an input card...it is HDMI + RCA audio output only and is the best way for you to achieve what you are after....true real time synched reference of your timeline to an external 3rd display.

Regards

Dave.

I just got the spark for full screen output, and I love it very much.

Highly recommended for output.

My problem is that I use more than one editing software. Edius/Avid and some Premiere.

Would be nice to have a card that can handle all three. Matrox mkaes a card supported by PPro Cs5 and AVID MC 5, but no word on Edius support.

Default Multiscreen

I can confirm that you can run up to four screens using nVidia hardware... I originally had twin nVidia cards but then switched them for the Quadro NVS 450 because it used displayport. It also came with all the cables and adapters for DVI back compatability. I do use the NX to output through component. (see pictured: 2 x 27" and 2 x 22" rotated. All IPS panels at high bit depth)

I do BUMP the Edius dev team that adding a fast fullscreen hot-key would be amazing. An example was last weekend when I put together an edit for a conference - I was still editing it on my laptop with the CEO 5 mins before it was screened. No time for rendering. Luckily we were able to use my scaler to window out the center of the Edius playback window (sized almost full screen). The result: 1080p scaled down a bit then scaled back up again, but it was probably the best looking picture we had all night. We all know a Canopus output card is a massive advantage for a "true" preview, but sometimes you have to get something - anything - fullscreen from a standard videocard.
