I read that a bit disppionting to say the least, but it is not the end of the world, I will have to live with it for now. It seems it will be X79 , not sure which motherboard, I am between buying the High end Asrock x79 Extreme9 and the ASUS P9X79 Pro or x79 Sabertooth.

Yip I am leaning to the Sabertooth, I have a real soft spot for Asus MB's. The one thing makes me want to go the Sabertooth route is the Cach to SSD dump feature, but the cost , As I am able to buy Asrock direct from the importer and Asus via Sub wholesaler , there is a $120 prices differents.Maybe after a bottle of wine or 2 the wine will chose for me ............. ;)

Let me tell you a story. The Sabertooth X58 has a 5 year warranty on it.
I bought a used one off of ebay and it came in with bent CPU socket pins.
I contacted Asus repair and I paid to ship it to them and they replaced it under warranty. I have used Asus boards for years. This warranty alone is worth the price of admission.

Not in the UK sadly - like MANY things the US enjoys huge warranty and support systems surrounding purchasers. Different story here in the UK....

24months from scan with some ASUS boards.....I often wonder why? is it because the US demands these warranties...

I have the ASUS P9X79 Pro with the 3930 processor, and I like it a lot.
