Default Capturing audio quality

I've just updated my system to Edius 7, and want to improve my audio investing capability. The system has a Realtec card which is ok, but since I also do audio engineering, I have a Bunch of devices with balanced in an out and wonder what the readers are using. With all the audio filters with Edius, it may not be worth the effort to change things. However, on some occasions, I may do live video and want to run audio from the "house" or mixer. Oh, the system below is out dated I have to change a few options.

I'm using a M-Audio card - Delta 66 in my edit system.

Balanced I/O using 1/4" TRS jacks.
