Default Firecoder and Edius not working

Hi All, I have SCOURED these and other forums trying to sort this out... I have just puchased and installed FCB on a brand new computer. Quad core ... yada yada yada.... Windows 7 64bit pro.

And it works. I can see the FCB board in the device manager and when I run the firecoder standalone software, it doesnt error.

But not with Edius. I have uninstalled and reinstalled edius. No fix. I have found the 4 files that someone posted in these forums in terms of setting up manually. No love.

This is driving me nuts. Am i missing something here??? I dont like wasting forum time.... So i played with this for a week, before I resorted to this question.

Will try anything.

Thanks in advance. Ben

Firecoder only appears ONCE in the Export options of Edius
Look in the "H264/AVC conversion selection when you "Export to file"
Very limited in Access from Edius

No "Moral exporter" error is a good start.

It may have to do with the installation order--if you installed EDIUS first and then later installed FCB and FIRECODER Writer, you haven't told EDIUS to "see" FCB. Pop in your EDIUS v5 installation disk, explore, and then look for the Drivers folder. In there, look for the MHX-C1 folder, run the setup.exe file (or whatever executable is there), and then try restarting EDIUS. It may also take a reboot.

What version of EDIUS v5 do you have on the installation disk? 5.0? 5.10? 5.12? If your disk is 5.0, it may not have the drivers.

Also, try re-installing EDIUS v5 from whatever disk you do have--it should auto-detect the FCB hardware and install the drivers.

Make sure you are also checking the "enable conversion" box in the bottom, left corner of the print-to-file dialog and see if that doesn't add the FCB target to the H.264/AVC area.

If none of that works, maybe it's time to call Tech Support.
