Default NAB is over: what about the future of Edius?

Questions to those who attended NAB this year:

What did you hear about the future of Edius? Was a new version (at least a dot release) shown? Did someone give an outlook? What to expect the next months?

Sorry we showed the EDIUS integration with Stratus.
Those Pods were very busy.

People who visited got to see that EDIUS will have a great feature as it is a central part of our Broadcast workflow.

For the rest as always we will not comment on future developments. There still is IBC..

Steve, it's really good to hear that Edius will be an integral part of many (future) GV products!

Anyway, being an integral part sounds to me that Edius has to be as stable as a software can be. And Edius' feature set will be dependent on the needs of the other production systems. So personally I fear that the 'dogma' of stability and interoperability will slow down development. Furthermore, it looks like Edius will move away from its roots as a standalone nonlinear editor. Most of the existing customers don't need integration like Stratus, they would prefer interaction with AE, PS etc.

(Btw, when I understand correctly, Stratus can work with Apple Final Cut Pro 7 and Avid Media Composer also).
