Default VSCO film like effect? - Something we can buy or method of edit?

Hey guys, so if any of you are photographers as well I'm sure you're familiar with VSCO presets, that give a photo the appearance of old film

turning blacks to blues,
lessening blacks
adding grain
making skin color slightly off yet inexplicably appealing
giving an old movie look but in a modern way

well a lot of videographers seem to have this look too
but the ones I personally know are either Final Cut or Adobe users

- This guys work is an example of what I am talking about
- https://www.orrissfilms.com/

is this an editing method I could try within Edius? if so what controls would I look into and play with?

If not, are there 3rd party plugins that would emulate this look?

- I know a lot of his scenes have light leak overlays so I posted about that in a separate thread :)

xoxo Thanks

Old Movie filter will give you a start. There is also a set of 64/65 old presets that give different looks.

Thank you - I know I can add grain with old movie film.
I used to use it to mimic the old sepia style, but I havn't tried to see if I could alter the colors besides sepia I will try that

What are the 65 old presets that you are referring to?
Just the standard ones in edius or something else?

I'm really interested in doing that hughy type adjustment with the grain
I know I've created some good grain before it's more the YUV curve that's a bit more challenging. I'm sure once I nail it I'll save it as a killer preset

BUT I'm wondering.. because I know when you do that kind of thing in photoshop that you overlay say a blue gradient overlay, set to a transparency.. so I'm wondering if I need to do something like that and play with blend modes?

is there a good video on blend modes?

If you do a search here, I provided a link a long time ago that explained how Blend modes worked in general. Very informative.
