as described below, you use the DIP switches.
per p19 of the manual, the key setting is SW1, No. 8 set to OFF. per p 47, you then use whatever software on the mac you are using to do the capture. let me know if you need the manual, and I'll zip it.

The topic is older. But a question, how is the ADVC connected to the Windows machine? Does your Windows machine have a Firewire port? Or is there a way to connect the ADVC differently, so that runs the software Picture Controller?
