Default Timeline Crashes

New computer and I downloaded most recent version of Edius.
Edius will crash when I try to use the timeline or player video. Doesn't crash instantly, will if I try to speed play or rewind.

I've tried raising the Playback Buffer size.

Thanks in advance.

Windows 10, Intel i7, 16GB Ram

Please provide some more information. There are so many possible system configurations and file types, that simply saying it crashed doesn't give any information to help you with. Here are the basics of what info is required.

What kind of files are you playing. (container type, codec, etc.) The best way to get this info is to use mediainfo to inspect a file. ( mediaarea.net ) and post the detailed info from the tree view in the software

Don't try to play video from the C: drive. video should be on a different drive. Also how is the video drive connected?

Do you have Quicktime 7 installed and enabled in Edius? It is required for some file types.

If you have an intel GPU core, enableing quick sync for decode in edius can also help if the files are of a kind that quicksync can decode.

More details about your computer can also help. (make/model if it's a brand name, motherboard, CPU, and GPU make and models if it's not a brand name system, as well as storage configuration)

I'll try to answer these the best I can:

File types don't seem to matter (JPEG, MP4, MOV...).

I'm playing from a built-in D drive, separate from C Drive, 2 TB compacity.

I've installed QT and enabled, same result.

Computer: Dell Inspiron 3793, Intel Core i7-1065G7 CPU 1.30GHz 1.50GHz, GeForce MX230
16GB Ram
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
C: 265GB SSD
D: 2TB HDD
Windows 10 Home version 1909

Thanks for your help

in EDIUS help menu, generate a system report and attach it in your reply by clicking "go advanced"
