Default Keeping surround sound off CD to Edius

So, if I bring a song in from a CD with surround sound to the Edius timeline, will it keep the audio intact? If I lay it back to a DVD, will the surround still work?

TIA JohnnyD

I don't know yet. A commercial CD with a singer. They haven't told me yet which singer. Be playing for a sales meeting in a hotel that pays a ASCAP fee every year for rights, kinda like the jukebox days.

The only surround sound CD's that I know about are DTS encoded and that would not work.
