Give it a day or 2 to filter down to everyone. This is hot off the press. You guys & girls are the first ones to hear of this offer.

Just to answer some of the questions here.

It's serial key only (the upgrade promotions were always serial key, and there is no boxed version of EDIUS Workgroup anyway).

If your application for an EDIUS Pro serial key is pending, you will be supplied with EDIUS Workgroup.

Oh, and something I forgot - we will also include the DNxHD codec too.

Please can you clarify the earlier offer to users of Edius 7 that had to the end of the year to get the Workgroup upgrade. Has that offer gone?

I was hoping to see how Edius 8 was working out before any upgrade.

I think Steve Wise's offer is great though, but still not clear which way the products are heading. Will the products diverge more, with some of the promised content only appearing in the Workgreoup version?

I think you will still be able to get the offer to the end of the year, BUT you will end up paying the $399 to get it, vs paying $199 now (using US$ for the example). You have until July 31 to see how it is working for the cheaper price, but to me this is a no brainer if you are even considering upgrading.

And you are right that it is a shame this has not been smoother. It certainly could have been. But what you are seeing is that some people making these decisions were not swayed by some of our voices about what would happen before the release. It has been the confirmation by the people complaining on the forum that has allowed this change in policy.

It has taken some time but we will get it right in the end.

The battle that is currently being fought behind the scenes is the new GUI. I am hoping we will see some changes in that in the very near future.

Thanks for clarifying and to GV for thinking of us users!

Thank you Pat for the clarification. So as a Edius 7 user prior to April this year, I can get Edius 8 Workgroup for $199?

Sorry to be a bit dim about this, but I would have to purchase the "jump upgrade" and register it before July 31st?

That is certainly one apect that is holding back my decision at the moment.

Could it be possible to perhaps have the option of the "classic view" as well as the new GUI?

No. But we are certainly hoping for an easier setup to look at.
