Default Local Edius 6 maven needed!

I'm in Southern Orange County, CA. I've never before used a professional program and besides, I'm 80, pretty kinda deaf, and wish my eyes were still working good. With all that, I'm having a slow go getting through the program to where I can quickly and efficiently produce multi-camera shoots.
I'm hoping to pay sort of a wholesale rate (I'm not well funded and I'm doing all this for free) to someone in my neighborhood I can call and get guidance through the twisty bits.

Default I got the Gavin Lucas tutorials,

... but they are next to worthless for me. I don't understand him at all well and there's no search function or detailed index. I need a live somebody I can call and say "Yeah, but ..." to. Thanks for the thought, though.

I'm not sure where you are located compared to Godfather Films but I know that gang pretty well and they are pretty good Edius users. John Goolsby the owner is pretty cool and his editors bang out multicam events all the time in Edius. He is located in Riverside, CA and here is his site.

I checked Google Maps and he may be in the area.

Default Maven

Thanks! They're more than 100 miles away, but I am going to contact them to see if I could visit and get a live lesson. That's a long drive, and gas is ferociously expensive here, but it would be worth it if they'll help me. BTW, I'm picking up the reference manual PRINTED today. I can pick flaws with it (Vout-of-date being the worst) but it's the only game in town.

I have a question: why does my post not show in the main Forum? I have to do a Search to get to where it's lurking!

It is showing correct. I think it is more of not being familiar with way the forum is organized. :)

Default Thanks for putting up with me, here!

I am registered, according to the 'Welcome' email I got yesterday. I still have to Search for my message; it's not in 'New Posts', either. Oh well, if others see it that's what counts.

I did a couple of things to help myself, today: I messaged the fellow in Riverside, asking if I could pay him to watch and video a multi-cam being edited (no response yet); and I picked up the Manual from the printers (68 bux! but that's gonna help a lot).

Thanks again, a heap ... Dick
