New Features of Version 8.5

This update provides the following additional feautures•

EDIUS
  • Support to import H 265 (HEVC) clip
  • Support to export XAVC Intra Class 480 clip
  • Support to export full-HD (l920x1080) XdCAM 35M clip
  • Support to export QFHD XAVC LonqG 60M clip
  • Support to display rec date and time of XAVCS clips
  • Support to export XAVC LongG 422 cip
  • Support BT.2020/BT.2100 PQ color space for Primary Color Correction
  • Support to contain the video frame of Out point
  • Support to use EDIUS on hi-dpi displays
  • New H.264 encoder for better video quality and encode speed.
    Available for AVCHD, Blu-ray.F4V, H.264/AVC and XAVGS file exporter, and burning Blu-ray disc
  • Support to decode Canon C700 RAW
  • Support to adjust audio volume and pan by entering value in audio mixer
  • Support to preserve width of Timeline Track Header
  • Support to detect metadata of Panasonic AG-UX90 / 180, DC-GH5 as source color space in Primary Color Correction

Mync
  • All new features are for EDIUS built-in Mync Standard edition.
  • Mync automatically converts BT. 2020/BT.2100 PQ color space to BT.709 to browse log clip.
  • New H.264 encoder for better quality when exporting Storyboard
  • Support to export Storyboard to FCP XML
  • Support to browse Canon C700 RAW
  • Information panel to notify about updates at myncworld.com
  • Support to decode Canon C700 RAW
  • Automatically detect metadata of Panasonic AG-UX90 / 180, DC-GH5 in order to browse in the correct source color space
  • Support to browse H 265 (HEVC) clip

Video render time is the same (264), but 50% of the CPU (i7Core 6700). That is how it should be?

Same render time but using lower percentage of the CPU might mean there is another choke point that limits render speed; e.g., storage access time.

Just a quick question,
Does 8.5 include the "Lower Screen Res" adjustment? So I can edit 60P UHD footage smoothly. Or is that only in the "WG" version?

I observe there is still no 50/60p UHD/4K video output hardware support on BMD and Edius 8.5 limited still to understanding a maximum of 64 logical cores.

Those improvements seem to be taking their time
