Default HD downconvert to SD for Mini-DV

I have a three minute HD clip that I need to downconvert so I can put an SD copy on Mini-DV (I guess avi). Maybe it's because I just edited for two straight days but I can't make it happen. Ideas?

do a search this has been explained many many times.
1 export to HD drop in sd project
2 switch project to sd re- adjust titles
3 Export to hd in HQ .use virtual dub method for down converting with less jaggies. (Anton's favorite)
drop in sd project.

All of these are well explained on the forum.

Steve,

I always do a search before posting. I'm not sure why I'm having a problem with this.

A couple of questions...

Can I achieve good results without using Virtual Dub? I don't have the software and won't be able to download it now (I'm under a deadline).

I don't need to encode for dvd I need to create an avi file that I can record on a Mini-DV.

At some point during an export I saw an option to downconvert. I don't know if this will yield good results but I can't seem to find that option either.

Thanks

Just switch your project to 720X480 16X9 and then plug in your minidv camcorder to the firewire and hit space bar on the timeline and hit record on your minidv camera.
