Default Locking a Clip

Maybe I am missing something obvious, but how can one lock a single clip on a timeline/track to prevent its being manipulated yet allow manipulation of other clips onthe same timeline/track?

TIA

Thanks. However, reads like that hides the clip, not what I am looking for. I want to be able to view/hear it, just prevent it from being accidently altered on the time line, like locking a track, but only a clip on the track, not the whole track.

Believe Premiere (at least older vesions) had a Lock Clip on Timeline option. I am looking for that capability.

I don't know the answer to your question, but if it cannot be done perhaps you could try a workaround?

You could put that clip on a track on it's own and lock that track.

Is this still the case -- no lock function? Today I would really like to see a lock function...

You can lock a track, not a clip. Any and all clips on the track get locked in place and protected from any manipulation. I have the track lock mapped to Alt-L on my keyboard for quick locking and unlocking.

I mostly use this when I want to lock an audio track so I can cut/ripple (with sync lock enabled) everything else to edit to the music.

This does keep things on the locked track(s) from being cut or moved, so you can't necessarily just use it as a clip protection if you still will need to move the clip around.
