I appreciate that things can be added before any update in May, but surely if it is on display at NAB, it is in the public domain.
Our focus was not on a new release or New Features in EDIUS.
So actually it is best to wait for news at the time of release of an update.

People at your booth may see something new. Why not post it here?

To my mind theres some great Edius related news from the larger post-production workflow world ...

Blackmagic Design's addition of direct support for Grass Valley's HQ/HQX (mov) codec into their forthcoming release of Resolve 11 signals a willingness by a major player in the post-production ecosystem to add first tier support to an otherwise marginally adopted NLE.

If you don't currently use or aspire to use Resolve, it may seem like a side note addition, but if this is signalling a willingness from third parties to welcome Edius into the fold then the future for Edius users just got very much brighter.

Fingers crossed the glass is half full.

Apologies for not posting much information on the forum but as usual there is a lot of crazy running about at NAB, compounded by a pretty significant acquisition :-)

But Andy is right - I think there has been a sea change in the type of meetings we've been having with other manufacturers, particularly with respect to HQX, which is very encouraging. I will try and put together a brief summary when I return next week.

Oh, and you may want to look at our PR page after 8am PDT for a small nugget of EDIUS information. Not necessarily news you're looking for, but still interesting... :)

Would be great if the codec would be a known codec in the freeware community.
Then we would have a chance to see a lot of cloud & online video services (maybe Google & VIMEO) accepting the HQ/HQX codec.
