Mark, it seems it is possible with TVMW5 , it was an m2t file I made on my 2nd attempt, kept the same preset you supplied, just changed settings from elementary stream to System (Video + Audio), also when I make an .m2t from Edius timeline with FCB (not TVMW5) it works fine in Edius.

Don't have Encore on this computer, did try both files in MovieFactory Pro 7 which happily accepts my Edius/FCB files but it wasn't having them.

I thought the Spurs plugin was only needed if you had FCB card.

So if I had the Spurs plugin encoding will be quicker, is this correct.

Thanks.

Hi Tony.

The presets I created were specifically for Spurs Engine. The encoder drop down is set to use Spurs Engine. So I have no idea what the effect is if ou don't have a Spurs Engine card, it may default to standard Mpeg 2 for all I know. Scratching my head what you were trying to achieve using them.

If you had a FireCoder Blu it would take 10-12 minutes fo rthe 20min video - yes!!

Hi Mark, sorta got lost in all those new preset you and Andrew made :)
(I did wonder about the "spurs engine" in its name)

So these latest presets you made are no good unless you have the spurs engine plug-in,... right.

So, is this plug-in any use to me when i dont have the FCB card?.

thanks.

It's no good to you Tony. It is in the FireCoder Blu forum :)
You might find it's totally unuseable file and would be better with a preset like Mpeg 2 for Blu-ray already designed by Pegasus.

Hi Ron. Was that using this presst posted or one you whipped up? Perhaps V4 does the same thing we just never worked it out.

Thanks Mark,

Thats what I usually use, ES MPEG 2.

In TMPGEnc5 my 2hr 25min avi file took 2hrs 35mins to encode.
I picked normal setting and CBR.
I usually go VBR 2 pass btw

thanks for your help.

Mark,
Upload a very short sample, try filebouncer.com. It will do up to 1gb.
I will try it in Encore CS3 and CS4. Upload and send me the link at sgdv@cfl.rr.com.
I tried a file that Barry did and it imported, went to image and burned to disc. Once on the disc I selected the button it was linked to and got the unable to play format error.
I will try again with yours if you want to give it a shot.

That is with TMPGenc 4 Xpress with the Spurs plugin. Source is a HQ file 1920x1080, I just changed the values in the format page.Generic MPEG-4 AVC, Level 4.1, VBR, Interlace. On the output stream selected ES Video only. On the SETTINGS ( rate control mode line) page change maximum bit rate to 30000 average to 25000, disc size Blu-ray 25GB ( UDF). This is what I have done since I got the Firecoder Blu just before Christmas. I take the audio directly into DVD Architect so do not need it encoded my TMPGEnc. As I said the file needs to be changed to .avc from .mvp for it to work in DVD Architect .

This same file was projected to take 22 hours using x264 with the V5 trial. I am going to stay with TMPGenc 4Xpress I think.

My file needed 12 hrs to encode with x264, well, I suppose I could live with that if the finished Blu-ray looked great but encore kept sticking and stuttering, no good for me.
