Default One of the reasons why I love Edius :)

Davinci vs Edius - Color Wheels.

RGB vs YCbCr color model tools.
Changing Luma values on YCbCr doesn't affect the Chroma values

And why sometimes you don't need False Color in Edius.

The information window in Scopes makes work easier.

And, since we're on the subject of "Why I like Edius," I might add that after just installing the latest Resolve upgrade, 16.2, it was extremely crash prone on my normal 8K timelapse workflow, whereas the previous version, 16.1.2, was not on the same project clips. You should see the Blackmagic forum, it's just lit up with complaints about now sluggish performance. Yes, Edius has its faults, but I have found that overall stability isn't one of them. In the years that I've worked with Edius, crashes could probably be counted on the fingers of one hand. Love the stability! :)

I was starting to learn color grading at Davinci (it was when I was Edius 7) because Edius didn't have the correct Scopes. Now I only use Davinci to convert DNG RAW to HQX and I do the rest of the work on Edius. Davinci has a nightmare interface and many stability issues. Edius tools are more affordable also :)

In this thread, I want to share my color grading presets with instructional videos. I want to prove to everyone that they don't need Davinci, Magic Bullet Look or other plugins. Everything is available natively in Edius.

EDIUS is my main editor by far but it is impossible to correct the red issues with my GH5's in EDIUS and very easy in Resolve. I have had no issues with Resolve since I started using it. No crashes, it correctly picks up plugins from the compete PC without issues. ( really don't have many though which I think may be the reason I don't have problems with EDIUS or Resolve ) Mainly I really use for colour correction and to create h265 exports . With my Threadripper, editing and playback performance in Resolve is far superior to EDIUS. Just hope EDIUS 10 catches up with Resolve Studio in this regard.

Just to add, Vegas is far superior to either of them for audio though Fairlight is trying to catch up as Vegas intorduces colour correction wheels like Resolve.

Ron, what tool in Davinci do you use for correct that red issue that you mentioned?

Resolve's user interface reminds me of the old adage that:
A camel is a horse designed by a committee. :)

Controls like hue vs hue and hue vs sat allows fine control of hue and sat within the selection and nowhere else. Resolve interface is just different. Bit like saying a motorcycle is strange compared to a car. Unfortunately like that comparison Resolve is a lot faster than EDIUS at the moment for non QS PC's. Vegas is also different. I use all three with no problems just like a used to ride a motorcycle and drive cars as well as sail my boat. Use tools for what they can do and learn how to use them.
