Default Perspective On Using Vistitle

I just downloaded Vistitle to use in Edius.

I'm going to go through the training manual, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around if this is the right tool.

I have an audio file on the timeline in Edius, and I want to sync words across the screen using Vistltle, timed with the audio file on the timeline.

It's more than just simple closed captions obviously, as I want to get fancy with the words and graphics in Vistitle.

Do I import the audio file into Vistitle somehow and then build slides around that inside Vistitle?

Do I make some kind of timed text file? (I will definitely want to control this process, sometimes moving the text frame by frame on the timeline.)

Or should I build one "item" in Vistitle and export each time, and place that on the Edius timeline?

Sorry for being such a newbie. Somebody experienced with Vistitle can probably guide me very quickly.

Appreciate all of you!

Derek

it is always best to have individual titles on the timeline, it is easy to finetune to music that way

you can use the autosave as function, type a word and press Ctrl+Shift+S

now you can drag the title and press Ctrl to create a copy, open it and add another word to the existing if needed and again press Ctrl+Shift+S

Hi Derek,

It is pretty easy to do within Vistitle if you know what you are doing. If you don't, you can use Anton's method.
Deciding which way to go, depends on the number of titles being used.
If you are talking 50-100 titles, do it on the Edius timeline. Otherwise, do it with Vistitle.

Either way, it will be time consuming. Also, you would have full animation and plugin options available to you.
If I had not already included this information in my Vistitle Quick Start Tutorials, I would happily pass it along. It's just not fair to those who paid for the tutorials.

Scroll to the bottom right under 'The How To Tutorials'

The other option would be to use the Karaoke plugin.
Here is a tutorial on how to use the Karaoke plugin.

Wow excellent tutorial you offer! I wanna do a test project and then may move into your tutorial training.

1) It sounds like a volume 2 of templates is coming out. Will that be included?

2) There is really no manual nor training on the plugins, right? Can you verify?

3) The only reason I purchased the plugins is that I need one feature immediately, which is in the Play Area on the Vistitle timeline, I need a "Play By Word" capability. I believe the plugin "3D Text" has this inside of it. I took a quick look and have no idea how to locate that. Possible to give me a quick tip on how to use that?

Appreciate your work.

The first Volume of templates is free with the Tutorials, but it is only for a limited time. Volume two is a month or two away and is a paid addition.

Is there is list of the templates to show what they do, or a video of them? And are they templates for general use in the program, or related to the plugins?

I don't have a video yet. I have not posted them on my website for sale. They are only a give away with the tutorials at this time.

To answer your 3 questions:

1). No, this will be a paid addition when it is released. It will also have mostly corporate style lower thirds

2). The manual I have has the instructions for the Plugins. The newer versions do not. My manual is from the 1st version of Vistitle.....a long time ago....

3). Are you talking about Play by Character, Play by Line, and Play by Text?
If so, this is a standard option on each title.

In response to #3:

If so, this is a standard option on each title.

On the website for Visdom, it showed the 3D text having the option to show Play By Word. This is a feature I need. It definitely is not there on the standard version. Do you know if that feature is in the 3D text plugin?

Do you have an example of what you want to do?

The only difference in using the 3D text vs standard text, is that true 3D properties are added to the title.
The animation can be the same on both layouts.

Play by line adds one line at a time. Play by char has one character at a time show up.

Play by word would have one word at a time render as an effect.
