Default Who is using Edius as their NLE?

I don't think I've met another freelancer who is running an Edius system. Seems like it's more of an embedded systems thing when a station gets sold on Grass Valley equipment or maybe it's more popular in Japan since that's where the software was originally developed.

I'm just curious... it never seems to be mentioned in talks about NLE choices when it appears to be solid.

It is a very solid NLE...

Many small event companies are using Edius.
I work with it since Canopus days and used every version of Edius created so far.

In the early days it was simply hands down the fastest around, while the competition has not been sitting still, I still find that it's extremely stable.

Ultimately your workflow is the deciding factor for your software tools, not just because someone claims it is good :)

I know photogs generally never touch a NLE but some do as they also offer video services, but even videographers I know haven't heared of edius, they are all into either premiere or Final cut. Almost everyone I know, even people who never touched a NLE, know Premiere but it's rare to find someone that knows edius.

Switched from Adobe Premiere to Edius over 10 years ago. Edius has been rock solid. It doesn't bother me that it is not well known in my area. People are usually intrigued when I discuss the NLE that they have never heard of.

Solid enough for TV commercials, created and delivered to spec from Edius
16 layer HD Multitrack edits of 2 hour +shows
Quick "cut and shuts"
SD HD 4K...
It's used for docus, by indi's, corporate, weddings in fact anything...and it's solid, no very solid, which is why we are here and not on the Adobe Forum.
