Default Preview of Primary Color Corrector

I was recently editing on my laptop while onsite for a job and couldn't see the effects of the primary color corrector while in the primary color corrector window (palette). But on my desktop I do. I looked for settings that would turn this on or off but didn't see any. Any thoughts? The laptop has an nvideo 980 graphics card.

Two simple things come to mind, on your laptop:
The preview (in the primary color corrector window) was set to 0% or
Your timeline cursor was not on the selected clip.

Were you using it inside of Mask?

Have you ticked the "Combine filters and track layers (for effect settings)" in
Settings<>User Settings<>Preview<>Playback

Default thank you

Thank you all for the responses.

I was working with a mask and looking in the layouter preview instead of my actual preview window. Didn't think about it because on my laptop the layouter window was taking up the whole screen whereas on my desktop I have two large monitors so the layouter was never blocking much.

Thanks!

In Mask, go up by the X on the top of the box and click on the Function box.
Check the first two options (you will have to do one at a time). then you will be able to see both transparent background and the mask function itself. You only have to do this once.
