Default A couple of questions about Edius 6.5

Just a couple of questions if some has done it already.

1. I'm about to order an overclocked new ivy bridge system i7 3770k (mbrd, CPU, RAM, cooler). Its overclocked from 3.5Ghz to 4.6Ghz using proven, stable settings from a pro company.
Providing the system is stable, would the overclocked Ghz itself from 3.5 to 4.6 cause any degradation in quality of the exported files?

2. I'm running Edius 6 at the moment and do alot of HD to SD downconvert. Edius 6 is much better than Edius 5 for HD to SD. Is Edius 6.5 better than 6 (using the Lancoz filter)? If somene has compared it would save downloading the trial.

Thanks in advance

1. It shouldn't if everything is operating properly.
2. Short answer, yes.

Thanks guys.
Would the onboard graphics (using the quicksync for HD encoding) be enough general editing and for the likes of Vitascene, or would I be better with a separate graphics card?

I would still get a dedicated, mid to upper end video card. The more
cuda cores the better....especially for GPU driven effects.

Thanks Jerry. Any recommendations on the lowest priced/spec card that would be sufficient?

Just some info that may help
I use an ATI card with overclocking and the difference in playback and render times comparing standard and overclocking is astounding
Doubling the clock speed almost halves the render time of a clip with a GPU effect, so
If you are going to use a lot of GPU effects buy the one with the most cores and the highest clock speed and you cannot go wrong, all comes down to price

Regards Barry
