Default How effective backup HD projects?

I film abt. 10 hours weekly but I generally use abt. 15% of source films. Backup of all original recorded cassettes is little bit uneffective, I mean. Nevertheless I would like backup my projects with sequences in original format, captured by canopus HQ codec. But only these, that I'm using in timeline and in used lenght. Plus, for example, 50 frames at both sides for each sequence. The result structure of files should be same like after capturing from camcorder, but only My 15%.
Please, do anybody know some tool which know to do it?

When you finish your project you can use the consolidate feature in Edius to gather only the clips you have used. There is an option to set a margin on these clips as well...
