This board is great: I have used the SP on my system (see my profile) and it worked perfectly!
I would go for the Edius SP SDI now...

So apart from using PCI-e and NOT PCI-X
what is the difference between the current Edius SP hardware & the new Edius SP SDI hardware ?

Thx

I have this motherboard and it works fine. The external SATA is exactly what I wanted. The one before it the WS was also OK but would not accept the Conroe chip.

I thought, it would also have HD SDI input...
so the Edius SP is sufficient.

To be accurate, it's not a third card, but rather a PCI slot panel with 3 x BNC leads that connect to the EDIUS SP main board.

Depending on your system's chassis, it's possible to avoid losing a slot when installing this new panel.

(not sure, but you might even be able to run the leads out of your PC case without the slot panel - ugly, but effective if you're pressed for space)

Bill,
Do you need SD analog component in/out?
I thought the SP-SDI was only available by turnkey?

All of the HD is the same as the NX. Unless you really need the fancy breakout box and the SD component in,and still no SDI, you might want to go with an NX card. I'm waiting for an HD/SD SDI card from GV. If that doesn't come soon with a decent price tag, other vendors make other cards.
At this point, I have seen some pretty good deals on the NX card with the bay. It might be worth looking into.

Edius SP also has balanced audio inputs, which is a plus if you're capturing analog component from Beta SP decks, for example.

Dave,
Is it really worth the price difference if you are not using beta decks?
I'm not sure what he is or is not doing.
