frame rates can't be changed mid-project in 6.5 or any other NLE that I can think of

there must be a logical reason

btw, what is wrong with making a 1440 50i or 1920 50i Blu-ray? I do this all they time

and often I incorporate 1280x720 50p footage, looks fine

why are you insisting in 1280x720 50p Blu-ray?

That would be great! Stretching 1280x720 to 1920x1080 doesn't effect quality?

By the way, the same audio that sounded great in the first project file sounds TERRIBLE in the 50p project preset that I opened. I won't care if you say that I can just use my 1920x1080 50i preset but I'm curious as to why this is.

well it will need more sharpness added to the clips than 1440

that is why I suggested 1440 as a go between

you can change frame rate and size in prem and vegas at any time. Wish Edius would allow it too - no real reason not to!

it's only 3D BD that has the limitations of:

1920x1080 23.976 fps progressive
1280x720 50fps progressive
1280x720 59.94 progressive

2D BD accepts almost everything in mpeg 2

1920x1080x59.94-i (16:9)
1920x1080x50-i (16:9)
1920x1080x25-p (16:9)
1920x1080x23.97-p (16:9)

1280x720x59.94-p (16:9)
1280x720x50-p (16:9)
1280x720x24-p (16:9)
1280x720x23.976-p (16:9)

720x480x59.94-I (4:3 & 16:9)
720x480x50-I (4:3 & 16:9)

AVCHD v2.0 supports 1920x1080p50/60

most new BD players support this new standard (As does edius 6.5)

Can you show me a screen shot of the panel that allows you to change project res and frame rates in PPr CS5.5.
I am quite interested in that one.

My understanding is that you are changing to a new sequence and not changing the current project settings. Granted, PPro allows you to use different settings in each sequence.

I do not see how to change frame rate in CS5.5 that I have but in Vegas it is easy. Go to project properties and change frame rate, done. I did this when I accidentally started a 1080i project with 60P files from my CX700. It seemed to just change.

I ended up having to use %60 sharpness. The double export and then the trans coding that Edius does (even though I exported to mpg), made it too blurry.
