this is usually caused by a non standard export size or project size such as 933x572

for any other legal size it should work, example: 1920x1080, 1440x1080, 1280x720, 720x576, 720x480

what is the purpose of the quicktime, once we know we maybe able to give you the correct solution

hi Anton,
thank you so much for your reply - I use the legal size of 1920x1080, and it still gives me and error, We use the canon 5d, and the picture is not smooth at all in Vimeo - Want to use Quicktime for export to vimeo, what is the best timeline settings for PAL timeline?
Thank you for your time.

you have several choices:

1. H264 exporter

2. http://www.videoproductions.com.au/html/mpeg4.html (set bitrate 2000 to 6000 depending on content)

Does the message appear instantly or after a while of exporting?

@ Andreas - It happens instantly - try everything - even if I only want to export sound. Same story -

If you use the EDIUS exporter it should work.

Can we get a screen shot of your project settings and one of the export tab with the settings for the EDIUS exporter which you said you tried and it failed?

Since almost every finding of this unspecific error at Google points to security conditions & rights permissions, maybe the following can help you?

The user tried to exported to a network drive!
After changing the export location to a local drive it did work!
