Default Edius 5.0 to 5.10

This is my first post
Am posting here to the Edius Editing forum but am unsure if this is the proper forum. Purchased the Edu. version of Edius 5.0 and registered on the site.
This is to be used at college.
When looking at updates and software available after registration I saw that 5.5 was available, but would have to upgrade to 5.10 first. Downloaded 5.10and unpacked. when using setup manager(from download) to install 5.10,after several minutes received onscreen mesage " Different version is already installed, Setup will not proceed" Is this due to the Edu version or another Problem?

you may have incorrectly read the 5.1 instructions

it says that you must not unpack all downloaded files, only the first one

Only unpacked the first file and put all in download folder per instructions.
Opened exe file and launched setup manager to run install. No problem with downloads other than long wait for all files.

Have uninstalled-removed registry setting and local settings and folder delete. Reinstaled 5.0. run the setup manager again and same problem.
Cannot install 5.10 update - same error -"Another version Installed"
Used Revo Uninstaller to remove any left over entries.
Guess its time to call tech service monday

After fresh install of 5.0 from CD downloaded and ran 5.5 Trial. Installed w/dongle in place. Updated to 5.5 with no problem. Hope this helps someone else with the install problems.

Anton,
About file says Version 5.50 Build 5005 and lists Plugins and files. Any way to determine if this version is complete ?

what is the file size of the Edius5 folder inside Canopus folder? should be around 4GB depending on your plugins

your version info is the same as mine

Size of Edius5 folder within Canopus Folder .99G
Plug in folder within Edius folder 42.4 meg.
Quite a bit smaller than yours.

yes, you clearly have a trial version and you are missing lots

the DVD Style folder alone should be 750MB
