Default Core i7-8550U

Hi there,

I am about to replace my laptop which was stolen a couple of weeks back.

I am trying to decide between a Gigabyte P17Fv7 laptop with a Core i7-7700HQ and a HP Probook 470 G5 with a Core i7-8550U.

From what I can find out from reviews online of the i7 microprocessors, they seem to be pretty much on a par (within reason) for performance with pros and cons on both sides, not the least of which is that the 7th Gen uP is 45W TDP and the 8th Gen uP is 15W TDP!!!

I am interested in which would be better with Edius 8.5WG. Has anyone been able to compare the performance of Edius on microprocessor both platforms? Or has an opinion of which would be best.

Thanks, Mark Perry
