Hey Jerry,

Thanks for your input. I do not have the program installed to have a look. I don't know if you watched the titles I linked to or not but they are deceptively time consuming (as you know). That is outside of being creatively hip or not which is a whole 'nother thing when you are creating stuff from scratch. I hate titling...

Do you know if Vistitle can create this type of motion? Null objects, emotive text things etc.. I know it can do the general movement.

Yes, I placed a notice in the Lounge a while back an no one seemed interested. There is an official Vistitle installer as well.
I have another 30-40 titles that can be added to a new installer. This also includes 4 subtitle presets.

Tim, here is a similar title to the opening of that video. The only thing I didn't do was use separate letters for the 'AND' phrase. Each letter has to be keyframed to do the bounce, but it can be done.
Sample title.mp4
AND.mp4

Vistitle doesn't use Null objects like AE. You open a project and select what you want to do.
If you are more adept at using AE, I would stick to that. There is definitely a learning curve for Vistitle.

Hey thanks Jerry. You are the best thing to ever happen to the Vistitle folks!

I am functional with the help of YouTube in AE. I have to admit that title project I bought offers a lot but it took forever to work with in AE. Plus any changes are another round trip. Having the titles in Edius that I could make and store over time would be a time saver over the long run.

I am also in the middle of a long project with a lot of titles and Quicktitler is driving me crazy without having a text box/word wrap approach. So I am considering trying it out.

Is Vistitle a paid upgrade for each version of Edius? I do not like having a shelf full of third party items to re-pay for every time there is a new version of Edius. Gets kind of heavy after while.

the main advantage to vistitle is that it works with edius...
After effects doesn't.... if After effects could work with edius like it does with adobe premiere, edius would have so much more titling power and also effects in general.
Vistitle is good... but I don't think it has that professional look like after effects... vistitle is great for quick supers that almost look as good a AE.

It depends on your creativity. It's not going to get the same result as Maya, Cinema 5D, or the full fusion...but it doesn't cost what those programs do.

Vistitle has had 2 paid versions since 2013. One when you purchased Version 1 and then the upgrade to Version 2.

If you purchased before Jan 2019 and you applied for the new license, you got a free upgrade to the digital license.

I suspect the next paid upgrade would be at Version 3.

Thanks Jerry. So when Edius 10 comes out it will not generate a new pay event? Only when the next version is created?

but after effects with its standard effects can create fantastic titles.
yes.... price difference is a concern for most ppl... vistitle for the price can create good looking titles , same with titler pro..... but for titles AE is a better program if u have the money and know how to use it.

at the end of the day, buy what you feel works for you and your editor.
