Anyone have an idea when Toshiba (and other licensees) will begin shipping HD-DVD internal burners? Wasn't that supposed to happen last year?

Regards,

Jon

ExtremeTech just reviewed another Blu-Ray burner, and they are asking the same question -- where are the HD-DVD burners?

Perhaps Sony has already won the battle, by default.

Toshiba is losing this one...Sony was smart to flood the market with the PS3 and DVD burners...

Toshiba has released a burner - http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/05/t...urner-for-pcs/
The PS3 can only play BlueRay - Toshiba and the XBOX 360 play HD-DVD and DVD. The Xbox360 can stream HDV and does it well. Ultimately I feel compression technology will win over mechanical players. Apple TV, Dish Network, Xbox 360 - just watch some HD video from any of these.

This thread is about Burning HD DVD it has no reference to BD.

These 2 posts should be deleted.

Actually, I'm not really seeing the distinct connection to these forums, beyond an off-topic discussion.
