Default Proper settings to play Edius videos on JVC GY-HM850CHU camera?

Hi folks...brand-new to the board here.

I've been using Edius 6 since 2011, all with P2 cameras...and I've just been issued the JVC ProHD GY-HM850CHU.

In our live trucks, we edit on laptops, push the finished product as an HD P2 clip to our card reader, then load that card back in our P2 camera and play said product through the camera into the truck for feeding.

Any clue what my export settings need to be to do the same thing onto an SD card with my GY-HM850? (I've been instructed to shoot in .MP4 format, if that helps.)

Thanks much, folks!

Hi Will. Welcome to the forum! mp4 is the correct shooting format . When you export choose the XDCAM EX exporter, then choose the Folder box instead of the JVC box and then navigate to the G:Private>JVC folder and exporting to that (or whatever drive letter your card is).

The new 7.4 update that just came out is supposed to allow you to choose the jvc checkbox but I have not tested that yet and you probably do not have that update

Do you guys have the slim batteries? How is the balance of the camera? I was just at a place that was switching to these cameras but they had the larger AB batteries.

Yep, we rock the slim batteries. My camera is front-heavy, since I got a sweet Fujinon 88m lens w/ 2x extender. That's heavy glass, man.

So your exporting tips work great for video, thanks...but my audio is garbage. Static cuts in and out on one channel, and silences the other channel when it does.

Any idea for Edius 6 export audio settings that'll play nice with the JVC?

Thrill,

I know your original post is over 2 years old, but did you ever find a solution to your issue? We've purchased the JVC 890 cameras and have the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Default Edius 7.53 exporter for JVC GY-HM890U

Joining with the same problem.

We are trying to find a way to export edited content from Edius Pro 7.53 back to the SD cards for our MMJs. Our Photogs can export back to their P2 cards to feed stories directly out of the camera and we would like to have that capabliltiy for our MMJs shooting on JVC GY-HM890U cameras as well. The closest setting Iíve found has been the built-in preset XDCAM EX HQ 1920x1080 59.94i, but it has an audio problem where static/noise blasts on one channel, and channel two is silent similar to others above.

Checking with JVC as well since the raw folders dragged over from the card with raw clips shot on the camera show up as a codec that is not installed with gspot and mediainfo. I tried both export to folder and navigating to it AND the JVC option.

The JVC option has the error "Failed to export. The system cannot find the path specified. (0x80070003)"

Thanks in Advance everyone!!!
