Default Dialogue voice equalizer - 2 people, same track.

I was handed 6 hours of footage shot with a room mic to fix. Two people speaking throughout.

Person A fills the room with his voice - a consistent -12db.
Person B is half that at -24db and then trails off.

Normally, I take a .wav file into Sound Forge Pro and manually go along highlighting Person B, add volume and NR, and repeat.

Researching an automated way and it looks like Adobe Audition has "Voice Equalizer." Except I've avoided CC so far.

Wondering how others handle this.

Thanks.

See if you can find a copy of Levelator somewhere. Itís free but no longer supported or distributed by its developers. But it is outstanding for problems like this.

you export your desired audio track to PCM wave and then drop the wav onto the levelator desktop icon, this creates a new leveled PCM file which you then place in EDIUS on a lower track and mute the track you exported

be sure to apply normalize the the corrected clip because by default it is too loud at 0db, normalize to -12 etc
