Default Anton, new camera codec?

Anton, I bought a Sony PXW-Z150. It has some codecs that I need your assistance on so I can make the proper settings in my project presets and when I print to file. The last time you helped me with my Canon camera AVCHD you sent me screenshots of the project settings and the proper print to file settings right down to and including the average (bps) and GOP. This time I would like to be just as specific so if you could please provide screenshots I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the codecs I'm interested in dialing the proper project settings and print to file settings. This may take some time but I'm happy to wait.
Thank you

They are:
XAVC QFHD 2160/30P @60mbps
XAVC QFHD 2160/30P @100mbps

XAVC HD 1080-/60P @50mbps

MPEG HD 422 1080/60i @50mbps
MPEG HD 420 1080/60I @HQ

you are listing three different formats

are you planning to edit each in a unique timeline or you want to mix all three on the same timeline

also, what are you planning to output to? Blu-ray? DVD? Web? File playback on TV via USB? UHD file playback on TV?

also, you mention 30p, is it really 30p or is it 29.97p?

and you mention 60p, is it 59.94?

No, I will never mix different formats together on the same timeline. I would like to know all formats for different applications when the need arises.

I send to file playback and then email them through Google Drive or put them on a USB flash drive and give out.

The camera display and camera manual only mention even numbers as in 24, 30 or 60. It does not mention any odd numbers at all. I will call Sony today and make absolutely sure. I wonder if they're just rounding numbers off. Let's hold off until I know exactly if they are rounding numbers off or if this even number system is accurate.

Thank you

can you record a few sec of each camera and then inspect the clips with mediainfo or in EDIUS right click properties to see the frame rate

because I do not believe 24p, 30p and 60p

You are absolutely right. I just looked in Sony's Catalyst Browse that I downloaded the other day and where I have some videos stored. It shows the captured frame rate at 29.97 and 59.94

Yes, I want it to be friendly to Windows 7 Pro. I also use Edius 7.5 in Windows 7 Pro.
Both of the above mentioned are on the same PC.

here are the required project presets

if you want to export for EDIUS use only, simply export to GV HQX Super Fine for the 4k export and GV HQ Fine for the HD export

Thank you, Anton for taking this time for me. I will work with these settings and get familiar with them. I'm sure I'll have a few more questions later on once I start getting familiar with them. But for now thank you again so very much!!!

Anton, am I doing this right? Concerning your first screenshot XAVC 1920x1080p. The camera in XAVC HD mode shoots in 10bit and only in this setting.(All the others camera settings we talked about are in 8bit) I made a few changes to the project settings. I did this because Catalyst Browse gives me information concerning video channel, video quantization bit rate and a whole host of useful information that I may be able to use as a guide.

This first screenshot is yours as a reference.http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/a...1&d=1470047147

This screenshot shows the adjustments I made in the video channel and video quantization bit rate. http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/a...1&d=1470047317

This screenshot shows that I moved from GV HQ Fine to HQX Fine 10bit because the GV HQ setting is only in 8bit. Is this right? http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/a...1&d=1470047544

These two screenshots show the top and bottom information of the Catalyst Browse information page. This is what I used to deviate from your teaching and to new settings. Is this right? http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/a...1&d=1470047704 http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/a...1&d=1470048435
http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/a...1&d=1470047753

By the way I put a red arrow next to the GOP. Maybe we can talk about that through the week?

Thank you!
