Default FCB .m2ts demuxed for Encore CS4 use

Have followed instructions from the thread on this forum regarding demuxing FCB's output (using the "print to file - Firecoder Blu - Blu Ray" setting in Edius 4.5) and have then demuxed using tsmuxer to profile 4.1 (unchecking the 2 pre-selected boxes) and loaded the file into Encore CS4.

The video file's still showing as requiring a transcode - the audio isn't however.

I appreciate this is an issue people have encountered and i've searched this forum to try and find the specific solution, but I was wondering if i've simply made a mistake?

The instructions provided were for Encore CS3 and i'm aware CS4 has its fair share of issues too.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Ta guys

Are you sure you are looking at the Blu-ray tab in Encore for transcoding and not the DVD tab?

This was only ever tested using the included FireCoder writer software . If you used the EDIUS export plugin for FireCoder Blu then it may be different. Can you export to Canopus HQ then use this file in FireCoder writer as described.

IF you export a HQ file and have TMPGenc then get the Spurs plug in as it has a lot more flexibility and will export elementary files that work in DVD Architect so may also work in Encore. I haven't tried in Encore as I now use DVD Architect most of the time, will try later today.

Just to further Khoi's point. Encore will sometimes say that it needs to transcode, as for some reason it may not know it is in Blu-ray mode, and it thinks it is in DVD mode. If you go to build disc, you may find it realises it is indeed a Blu-ray project you are doing, when you tell it to burn Blu-ray. This seems to be a bug that still exists in CS5. I have had it myself, but then burn to disc forces Encore to realise what you are burning, then it sees the files as already transcoded.

Hope this helps.

Dave.
