Default splitting stereo to mono

Edius 5.5: I have a timeline with many clips with one audio-track (1/2) with stereo sound. I need to split these two stereo-channels into two separate audio tracks. How is this to be done?

thank you - but this does not help to solve my problem: I have already many clips with stereo sound in my timeline in track A1 and want to separate this stereo into two separate mono tracks A1 and A2

ok... here is an idea...
copy all your clips and paste them to A1, paste again to A2
then use the panpot & balance filter to mute the channel you don't want in A1 and A2...

remember to mute the track with the original stereo audio as well...

If you have a lot of clips, there's no great answer.
Here's what I do...

Map the audio tracks to an associated channel (A1= ch1, A2=ch2)
Double click the timeline clip to add to the player
Click+drag the player window to the audio tracks (they should already be trimmed)
You get two mono tracks at 100% volume. Methods other than using mapped audio will not give 100% mono volume.

E6 offers more challenges for this method.

Can you please explain what does this mean?

Also selecting properties will allow you to choose Stereo, Mono 1 or Mono 2.
