Default EDIUS 9.31 very bad performance

Hi,

I have the problem that performance of Edius 9 has become very bad. I did not change anything software or hardware. Just windows updates which I suppose to be the reason.
I already uninstalled and reinstalled Edius.

When I have a single 4K h264 clip in the timeline with just the primary color correction playback is too slow and the clip is marked red.

That has not been like that in the past.

I have a i6700, GTX 1070 and 16GB. Clips are on internal SSD drive.
CPU load is about 70% GPUs are both working at about 20%.

Do you have any suggestions what I can do?

Best Regards
Dennis

does the frame rate of the 4k clip match the project setting frame rate?

also, make sure optical flow is not set as clip default, otherwise you have to join the stutter vision club

Thanks for your reply.

Frame rate is the same in project settings.
Optical flow was set as default. I changed that but no significant change.

I have just seen, that the buffer seem to run empty.
Starts with about 8 frames, clip runs smooth for one or two seconds and then begins to stutter.

If the Intel GPU is running at 20% then it is probably not using Quick Sync to help playback the footage. This would probably be down the drivers for the Intel graphics card getting updated.

Can you try exporting something to H.265. If it says you are not allowed to do this because you do not have the right hardware then QS is not working and you should try putting in some older drivers for the Intel GPU.

This is in addition to Anton's thoughts of course.
