Default Burn to DVD is greyed out in 5.12? I need it!

When I try to burn directly from Edius 5.12 the controls are greyed out. I have searched the manual, no clues anywhere I can see.
Please help.

I'm using a i7 with XPPro 32 bit and a P7qPro M/B

Default Thanks and further

Thanks for redirecting my query. I see many people confused about this. I just found out how to easily fix it ( for me). Simply change the TYPE of project from prog to interlaced. Ididnt realise it but obviously the OUTPUT type is determined by the Project type and not the file type - since ED is proud of being multi format compatable.
Now I'm off to try and custonise the burn menues . . will let the forum know.
Thanks

Not really it depends to what you output. Because when doing file based output the possibilities are endless.

Going to dvd will impose limitation dictated by dvd specs.

Edius is so versitile that it can be confusing at times.

Once you see the light, it really is special how the program can work with so many formats, input and output.

I was talking about specifics - burning DIRECT to DVD. In That case the availability(or not) of the feature is directly controlled by the PROJECT settings, NOT the file type, as you incorrectly assert.

This is clearly a propblem for many people, and as support person if you dont understand this, then I'm not surprised there is so much confusion in this area.

I think we all understand edius can output many FILE types. Thats NOT what this thread is about.

OK?

Wooaahh Harry...back up a step. First and foremost Steve knows exactly what he is talking about. You are just misunderstanding what he is sayng. For someone new on here to say that about one of the main 3 or 4 guys on this forum to help people over the years is almost insulting.

Second he is not in official GV Support, though he knows more than most people there, but that is merely a user name.

The problem of the greyed out burn to DVD is a well known and often discussed question. I am sure that both Steve, Anton, I and a few others have each given out this answer about a dozen times so we are well aware of what it is.

So I am glad you have the problem corrected but let's have a bit more respect for the people that try and help you.
