Default 5.1 won't recognize QT .mov files

I have a 23 sequence project that has many .mov clips that played happily in Edius 5.01. After upgrading to 5.1, without a hitch, I opened my project and all the .mov files were marked offline. Opened the restore offline clips and selected a missing clip, nothing happened. The open clip button is greyed out even when proper clip is highlighted. I tried importing a few .mov clips to the bin to see what would happen, and they are also not recognized. It just imported empty clip shells as though they are offline. I am using the QT 7.5.5 that came with the 5.1 update. The previous version was QT 7.5. Anyone else have this problem after updating? Something isn't right with 5.1

I have done the update with no problems. QT files work fine.

One thing that might, just might be a gotcha is that when you mute a video track (i.e de-select the little filmstrip on the far left of the timeline for a track) it now greys out the track on the timeline. It could be confused for an offline clip. Is it possible that is what is happening?

I explored further. Some QT work fine from another media drive and project in Edius 5.1. Some don't. Different codecs or corrupt files? Something changed after the 5.1 upgrade and got corrupted. Because all of my QT previously worked in my project. I have a lot of apps loaded on the system and it is a bit bloated. It might be time for a clean and fresh install of only necessary apss to sort things out. Thanks for the input. I'll post my results.

by the time we receive our 5 i found that the QT that came with the disc didn't work (even no opnening the quicktime player) unistalling it and installing and old one solve the issue but... now i finish to install the 5.11 with same issue, tryed to made the same (uninstalling and installing another qt) didn't work: a few .mos that i am using in a project that were working fine now are offline and with no chance to restore, the curios thing is tat qt player can play thoose from the explorer... i'll download a fresh version from the page and see...

upss almost forgot it no mather the source of the files (digital juice, after effects renders, etc) some files works (in edius) and some not...

maybe the QT files have variable bitrate audio?

if you have QT player pro, save it as a new file and select PCM audio
