Default HEVC format

A client has sent me a file from iphone X in HEVC format. 4K 30p.
I'm using Edius 8 and it's not viewable. Does it need to be converted before Edius likes its? Any suggestions on using these HEVC files?

Thanks

Been searching the forum post and found this about Edius version 8.5

I'm using 8.2 so that may be the problem.
I'm going to update to latest version and see if that fixes the issue.

Updating to EDIUS 8.5 should let you read the file but you may still have problems because iPhones tend to record in variable frame rate which most editing programs do not like. This causes the audio to go out of sync as you move through the file. You will only find out for sure when you can load it to EDIUS.
