Default Edius constantly crashing

New experience for me to have Edius crashing! But I can't put my finger on what might be the cause. I did install a new version of Neat Video Plug-in, but this current project doesn't use it and that is as unstable as the last (which did use it).

Is there a way for me to interpret these error reports that Edius generates? Can I see from them myself what is wrong or do I need to submit them to Grass Valley? They seem quite big, about 100mb.

Many thanks,
Martin

From other recent crashing threads on the forum, Edius 9.40 seems to have crashing problems when you are using either variable framerate files (ie. most cell phone video) or when framerates of the video differ from the project settings. The temporary work around os to roll back to the previous version.

Roll back to Ver. 9.3. This is a known issue with Ver. 9.4 on some systems. Hopefully will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks guys. I do indeed have many files with frame rates different to the project. I'll see about rolling back to 9.3. When I uninstall before re-installing 9.3, will I loose all presets, user set up, etc?

Thanks again.
Martin

Just uninstall the current version and install the previous version. Do not deactivate your license. Should take a few minutes and you should be back up and running, hopefully with no crashes.

you need to do four things

1. uninstall EDIUS and choose not to deactivate
2. uninstall Mync and choose not to deactivate
3. empty appdata/local/Temp
4. install 9.30

before you uninstall, open EDIUS and go to help menu and generate a system report and attach it here in your reply

Does this mean these versions have all the same issues ? :

- EDIUS_Setup-9.40.4803
- EDIUS_Setup-9.40.4896
- EDIUS_Setup-9.40.5106

and then we have to go back to :

-EDIUS Software v9.31b4196 Full Installer.... (and follow the precize recommandations from Anton... thanks for that !).

So, going back to 9.31 and we loose the quality progress of exporting to MP4, isn'it ?

Thanks to advice

Only revert if you are having problems crashing.
