Default H264 Encoding Multi Multi Multi pass?

Does anyone else have this problem when encoding quicktime H264 files that the progress bar makes multiple passes when encoding. Haven't counted but probably about 6 or so passes which makes it difficult to have any idea how long the encoding might take.

Yeah on my Edius 5.51 it did that, so never could use VBR with quick time.

Why would anyone use the Quicktime exporter for encoding H.264 files? It has no advantage over the Edius AVC exporter, takes 100 times lonnger and the quality is much lower.

If you dig into the QT settings you can turn off multipass

Best
Dave.
