Usually has some extra like wi fi or raid controller o/b.

Best is to check the Asus site for the competing specs between the two. Not hard.

Jim,
I purchased this MB a couple of months ago, to use in my office system. Mostly because it has USB V3. I needed the faster speeds to DL my photos (usually 30 gig of photos). Works very well. I'm using the I7 960 CPU and 6gigs of memory.
