Default Batch Exporting Problem

I recently updated our Edius version to 5.12 and now for some reason the program freezes after simply attempting to batch export. As soon as we hit the button to export, nothing happens! We can't even cancel the export as nothing happens again. We have to force the shut down of Edius and restart it. Is this a problem with the new version? Thanks in advance for your help.

Mark

This is not a problem with the version. We need some more info from you to try and solve your problem. System OS, hardware, exporting to what, etc.

I'm not a tech guru like most of the forum junkies, but I'll do my best to provide the specs.

Motherboard - Asus P5K64
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor
Intel P35 + ICH9R (whatever this means)
DDR3 1333/1066/800

We are using Edius version 5.12 and just upgraded from 5.01 about 2 weeks ago. Prior to this update, batch exporting worked fine.

Is this enough info, or do you need more? I can ask the guy who built the machine if necessary.

thanks

What OS are you using? Does regular export work OK?

We are using Windows XP Pro as our OS. We do have a lot of problems since this update with even normal file exporting. For example, I have about 30 files to create on one project from different sequences. I'm using the embedded encoder to create MPEG 2 files, but it's hit or miss if Edius will perform the function or not. 3 of the last 6 attempts have ended with the exporting window showing no time elapsed and nothing happening while the cancel button does not work. I have to force the shut down of edius.

hmmmm. I hate to say it but you might want to uninstall reinstall. This behavior is not normal. You don't have any virus scans or anything like that happening do you?

No viruses or problems that are indicative of a problem. If we do an uninstall, how do we approach this since it was an update? I may contact support before I do anything else. Thanks for your input.
