Default UHD (4K) 10 bit HDR REC2020 (BT2020) from Edius is it possible?

I am trying to edit up an UHD 10 bit HDR project and eventually export a file for use in Handbrake to make an HEVC H265 HDR10 video file that I can playback on an 4K HDR TV. I am having problems with setting up a REC2020(BT.2020) project in Edius. Can someone offer advice as to the best workflow.

My clips are from a Sony FS7 and are 10 bit Slog.

Edius 8.22WG UHD 10 bit Project appears to offer no option to select colour space and I suspect this is by default REC709 (BT.709), so how do I change this to REC 2020 colour space?

Primary colour Correction filter has been applied to the clips and color space output destination changed from the default project color space of BT.709 to BT. 2020.

Export from Edius Timeline to Canopus Lossless AVI (for use in Handbrake) is for some reason reported as only 8bit by both Edius and MediaInfo.

Export from Edius Timeline to GV HQX fine AVI (for use in Handbrake) is for some reason reported as 10bit by Edius but MediaInfo says its only 8bit. Is it 8 or 10 bit?

How do I get a true UHD 10bit HDR REC2020 file exported from Edius or do I have to edit my projects in a different program?

If so what is the purpose of the Rec 2020 setting in the Primary color filter if Edius cannot export UHD HDR REC2020?

Your help would be appreciated – thanks Peter

Any reason you aren't using 8.31?

I like to wait for a few weeks before upgrades. Will the 8.31 offer extra color space features?

Thanks Andrew

Mediainfo is V0.7.91 which should be latest so rather surprised it says HQX file is only 8bit.
V0.7.81 on another PC also reports as 8 bit. However Edius reports as 10 bit. As the project is 10bit I am hoping that it is in fact 10 bit.

The other thing I am concerned about is whether Edius passes on the color space info like REC709 or REC2020 in the file header when it exports files.

Also how do you set up an Edius project and select the color space as only way at present looks like all clips need to have a primary Color Correction filter applied to change from REC709 to REC2020 before export?

Hmmmm...
I have drawn a n exported clip from a 10bit-project to mediainfo-0.7.91.
See the attached screenshot.
It shows 10bit for the exported HQX-clip.

Thanks all for your help.

I have just uninstalled Mediainfo, emptied temps etc and reinstalled prog and Mediainfo still shows my hqx as 8 bit so will do further tests and report back.

Just done some more tests with new Edius projects and different 10 bit source clips and output HQX are showing as 10bit by edius properties but Mediainfo still reports 8 bit.

Is there any other file format I can try exporting from edius that should output 10bit file that I can test mediainfo further with? Thanks Peter

Tested 4 frames of 4K 10 bit slog ungraded in Edius HD 50p 10bit project and exported to HQX avi. File attached for testing in Mediainfo, my version 0.7.91 on win7 shows as 8 bit, edius as 10 bit. Probably my system or Media info bug?

Looks like mediainfo bug. As far as I know support for GV codecs was added to mediainfo based on just few samples, so may not be very accurate at all. When you analyse HQX in MOV mediainfo (0.7.89) does not show bit depth at all, so implementation is very basic.
That's what I did with the clip posted above, so probably a bug.
