Ah now there's the problem. I was playing around with some colour correction in Resolve & haven't used Edius for a couple of weeks. Everything seemed to be going well until just the other day. When i couldn't get it working properly, i updated Windows & nothing changed. I could try going back to before that, but from what i recall, it was doing exactly what it is doing now, hence the reason i updated Windows.

What is interesting is that i can open an 8 bit HD project & play all the material on the timeline, but as soon as i try to add a clip to the viewer window, or to the timeline, it crashes. It can even be clips i have in the timeline that will play on the timeline, but if i try to play those same clips in the viewer, or add them to the timeline, bang! Edius just shuts down. No freezing, it just shuts down. Very strange!!

yes, can you delete that path and close EDIUS

then start a new EDIUS project and add some clips, does it crash again?

if yes, you can add the VST path back as it was

also, check Power Options, sometimes Win updates reset them to economy

you need to set to the high performance plan

and we need to figure out the unknown, you certainly have a long list of crashes caused by an unknown module
maybe something to do with Resolve, are you willing to uninstall Resolve and all its plugins for testing?
