Default Sudden E9 hang

Did MS recently push a patch to Win10 that crashes E9?

Project that were OK a week ago now cause E9 to hang.

Click on the Start menu and type View reliability history to see any updates that were applied to your system, plus any detected hangs and crashes.

They have started automatically sending out V1809 to machines it seems - as a few of mine have updated automatically. You can check which version you have by going to settings-system-about.

I have been using this version for sometime (it came out around about October) without problems, however. Have you looked in the EDIUS error logs and seen what caused the crash?

I have 1803 installed.

The problem arose on the 14th. I updated EDIUS to 9.3.1, same problem happens. Hangs with grayed out screen and spinning donut until it times out.

MS reports "A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows."

FWIW: Respeedr did the samething on the 13th. A number of MS patches weer pushed around then.

Where do I find the Edius error logs? The EdiusDiagnostic logs in the EDIUS System Report file don't show me anything (zero events in EventViewer).

There are lots of disc errors in it. The other disc errors say "LOGICAL UNIT NOT READY, LONG WRITE IN PROGRESS"

Not sure what disc is a problem. Do you have a card reader? I have sometimes seen this kind of problem with a malfunctioning card reader.

Yesterday it worked fine (no problem for several hours of editing), so something apparently is intermittent. The freeze happened when playing a clip in the preview window and playing the timeline, so it might be a disc read issue. All media was on the same drive.

Guess I'll try comparing device listings to see if I can spot something missing. Perhaps Win10 missed a driver while booting.

The missing drivers (i.e., did not install) both relate to NVIDIA;
NVVHCI Enumerator
NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)

The resident graphics card is a GeForce GTX1070

Wonder if that caused the problem?
