Default I7 6700k

Marc44 & Jerry
I'm following this thread from the sideline, and im in the same situation, You both write over the I7 6700k but in You're profile You don't use the I7 6700k ?
Do I miss something ?
I'm planning to do a upgrade from a I7 920 to the i7 6700k with a Asrock extreme 4/u3 an 16Gb ram and the cpu.
Is the quick sync working like You wanted to work ?
At the moment I'm only working FHd but in the future ?
Thx
Eddy

Marc has a 6700k and I was trying to compare encode times on my 4790k.

If you upgrade to a Skylake CPU then you need to be on Edius 8.1 to get quicksync and be using the Intel drivers ending 4300

Default Quick sync

Adam
Once again, quick sync, there are so many different opinions/test/releases that the more I read the less I can follow !
I found this on the official Grass valley website (section Edius 7.5) :

http://www2.grassvalley.com/prod-spo...NAB/index.html
And
http://www.grassvalley.com/docs/Appl...Technology.pdf

Can You understand my confusion !

For now, I build and tune a 6700K for a friend and I keep it until next week.
I tested it during one month and, probably, I'll get the same system later.

Damn it !
Suddenly, yesterday, the 6700k became lazy.
In a HD project, I put a simple effect : the redline appears and the TL is starting with a delay about 3" to 4", even without effect.
Usually the PC isn't linked to Internet.
I verified with Ccleaner, Adw cleaner ... nothing special.

I applied the last W10 upgrades without success.

I think to restore the OS, but, before, I'd like to understand the reason.

Where is your footage stored? First thing I would check is that location to make sure it's not failing.

I tried the footage on WD HDD 2To and on Samsung SSD 1To and it's the same result.
I don't know it's an issue from PC or from Edius 8.1 (parameter ?).

I tested the video drives :
Samsung 1 To : Transfert rate : 450 MB/s - access time : 0,0 ms
WD 2 To : Transfert rate : 143 MB/s - access time : 10,3 ms
It seems very good.

Are they both external drives? There could be something causing an issue on the USB controller. I would try it again with footage from an internal drive
